Full Description
Solid oak throughout including the drawer linings and with rare and beautiful burr oak fielded panels to the drawer fronts, each with deep ogee moulded borders and with period brass drop handles - early hand cast brass replacements for the originals and located in the original holes with snaped fixings. The stand original also and made with the chest, having very deeply turned and well shaped supports with great colour and patination.

The chest is oak throughout and original with a couple replaced boards to two of the drawer linings and two later stretchers to the stand - professional 19th century restorations and very difficult to detect. A very small number of old worm holes to the carcase, old and long since dead. Minor dings and marks, small nibbles and losses consistent with age and use.

Of attractively small proportions, the drawers open and close smoothly on rebated side bearers and have correct construction for period with nailed up bottom boards.

The chest on stand is heavy and excellent quality, very robust and usable.
