Full Description
A very good and rarely seen figured elm bureau with a fine interior of padauk faced drawers with brass drop handles and an oak central door, crossbanded in padauk, with original lock and working key and opening to reveal a secret padauk fronted drawer and oak lined interior.

The four long and graduated drawers retaining their original brass bail handles and escutcheons and with full elm original linings.

The fall on original hinges and with original escutcheon, lock and a working key.

This is a most exciting and rare combination of timbers and the bureau is extremely well made and strikingly beautiful with a rich colour and lovely natural patina to the elm. The bureau retaining original timbers throughout, and set on original bracket feet.

A really extraordinary Georgian bureau, substantial and practical.
