In very good original condition throughout. The oval frames carved in pine and with gesso detailing and red dole underglaze, overlaid with original pure gold gilding.

The frames with beaded outer border and swept border, inset with a wide ribbon, egg and flower head curved central border and canted inner slip which echoes the bevel of the mirror plate. With foliate and shield crest, each mirror has three elaborate arms which extend to support gilded sconces for candles. At the base of each frame, a further drop of foliate scrolls and bell husks. The whole decorated with vines, tendrils, flowers and drop bell husks.

A few very small minor losses to the giltwood here and there but nothing noticeable or untoward. The mirrors appear original throughout without previous restorations.

A wonderful pair of original mirrors ready to hang and enjoy.

So beautiful atmospheric when adorned with the lit candles as they would have been in the 1850s.
